To commemorate Takato Yamamoto’s 20-year career, Shibuya TOWER RECORDS is holding the TAKATO YAMAMOTO EXHIBITION -NOSFERATU from October 26 to November 11, 2018 at Space HACHIKAI. This exhibit showcases the sublime beauty of young vampires from Yamamoto’s recent NOSFERATU collection as well as older works. Fans also have the opportunity to gaze at Yamamoto’s manga, sketches, and more. Additionally, Yamamoto will hold a signing at the exhibit on November 10, 2018. While Yamamoto’s art is not explicitly Boys’ Love, many fans of the genre may enjoy this exhibit as well.
Who is Takato Yamamoto?
Takato Yamamoto is a world-renowned Japanese artist noted for crafting the “Heisei estheticism” style. Since his first exhibit in 1998, Yamamoto has attracted global atterecognition for his erotic and fantastical illustrations. Manga fans may know him from Into Darkness, a one-shot published in manga anthology AX: A Collection of Alternative Manga.

NOSFERATU, Yamamoto’s most recent collection of illustrations released on Nov. 9, 2018, dwells on “beautiful girls and boys transformed into vampires who crawl in the shadows of the night and devour each others eros and life as they bare their fangs and seek blood.”
Visitors can encounter larger-than-life vampiric allure in the center of the exhibit.
Yamamoto’s illustrations line the wall. Along with NOSFERATU, the exhibit features Yamamoto’s older works as well.
Into Darkness also appears at the exhibit for those who want a peek of this fascinating manga.
Fans can gaze at a special collaboration 3D model with Mana Model along with Yamamoto’s illustrations.
TOWER RECORDS has well-stocked the gift shop for visitors who want to take Yamamoto home with them.
Fans can take a sip of…”blood” like a vampire with this -NOSFERATU themed.
Fans can also take home a special collaboration t-shirt if their heart beats for Yamamoto’s art.
Clear files of Yamamoto’s vampire illustrations are perfect for art-lovers on a budget.
Each ticket is a perfect souvenir on its own with a different Yamamoto print on each. (There are four versions of the ticket. Though be warned-they are distributed randomly.) Additionally, for every 5,000 yen purchase, guests receive a limited edition badge.
