What is DoKomi?
Boasting of 55,000 visitors spread out within two days jam-packed with events, DoKomi (short for “Doitsu Komiket” or “Germany Comic Market”) is Germany’s largest Anime and Japan Expo!
Located in the heart of Germany’s largest Japanese community in Dusseldorf, DoKomi offers a one-of-a-kind experience for J-content enthusiasts. From gaming to cosplay to J-Music, DoKomi provides a safe space for fans of culture to revel in fandom.
DoKomi 2020’s Special Guests include mangaka Toshio Maeda of Urotsukidoji and La Blue Girl fame, Mitsunori Zaki, creator of Shounen no Zankyou, Shuushuu Kitan Itto and It and Lily, webcomic creator Merryweather, and odorite Ashibuto Penta.
Event Highlights
DoKomi hosts the largest in-event Artist Alleys in all of Europe. With over 700 artists, fashion creator booths and other fandom-related projects, DoKomi is sure to cater to fans of every kind of Japanese content.
Japanese music enthusiasts can also bop to the beat as DoKomi hosts the biggest J-Rave event featuring world-renowned DJs hailing from Japan. For those looking for something more “classic”, the famous Cosplay Ball, provides an opportunity for cosplayers to dance to their hearts’ content, while in full cosplay regalia!
There’s also DokoMi’s ever-popular Maid Cafe and Butler Cafe, which provide a unique dining experience with beautiful maids and dashing butlers serving up your orders.
For cosplay lovers, DoKomi provides a prime venue for cosplayers to play around take impressive photos with the 3D photo booths. For those aiming to improve their crafts, DoKomi also hosts a variety of workshops so that visitors can have fun while learning.
